"Anxiety in the minds of the mining workers who were terminated from service by the mining Companies viz. M/s. Sesa, M/s Vedanta, M/s. Fomento Group of Company, M/s. V.M. Salgaonkars, M/s. Bandekars and others due to stoppage of mining in the State. Now as the mining industry has been commenced, the staff/workers who were terminated is to be re-instated. Steps the Government plans to resolve the matter in the interest of local workers".

"This House resolves the Government to initiate massive efforts to protect the existing rivers and their tributaries that have been blessed and beautifully spread over the State of Goa by means of dredging wherever necessary or protecting the sides with constructive measures etc."

"Fear and apprehension in the minds of the people of 'Goa for having banned the extraction of sand and other mineral such as bricks, stones including laterite stones etc. as a result the business of construction as well as repairs to the houses buildings by the people have been drastically affected and the steps the Government has been taken or intends to take to rerrledy the situation."

And the same is not resolved till date. The steps the Government intent to take to resolve the issue".

DR. PRAMOD SAWANT, MLA to call the attention of the Minister for Transport to the following:

"Apprehension and fear in the minds of people of Goa due to negligence on the part of Tour Operators to manipulate travel plans of the passengers travelling to Mumbai and back in order to avoid payment of tax resulting in drowning of a bus near Khed on Goa Mumbai Highway causing death of approximate 36 passengers, the Government intends to take steps for the safety of the passengers travelling to Mumbai and other cities."

"This House strongly recommends the Government that since the procedures for availing benefits of the some Schemes of Art and Culture Department are made online, it is not possible for rural persons from the Talukas like Canacona, Sanguem, Quepem, Dharbandora, Sattari, Bicholim and Pernem to avail these benefits therefore; the same may be reconsidered in the interest of public from these rural areas."

SHRI PRAMOD SAWANT, MLA called the attention of the Minister for Health to the following:

"Fear and apprehension in the minds of the people of Goa that the mediclaim re-imbursement is considered from the date of issue of certificate by Directorate of Health Services which is issued on the recommendation of Doctors of Goa Medical College Hospital, it is observed that in case of emergencies when patient needs to be shifted immediately after the advice of Goa Medical College doctor (when the
facility is not available in Goa Medical College Hospital), in

 

 

such conditions if holiday (Saturday, Sunday etc.) falls in between, getting required certificate from Directorate of Health Services takes time, due to emergency, patients family remain no option them to shift him to the other place and start the treatment (sometimes operation need to be done immediately)in such conditions the re-imbursement is not considered in the absences of certificate issued by Directorate of Health Services, therefore request the Government that the mediclaim scheme shall be revised accordingly in the interest of public and benefits of re-imbursement shall be made effective from the date of recommendation of Directorate of Health Services Hospital."

SHRI PRAMOD SAWANT, MLA made a mention about "Chewing of Tobacco/Gutka is increasing in country day-by-day, whereas in Goa the percentage is very low but one Gutka manufacturing company is selling of its product by brand name GOA GUTKA requesting to take judicial action against the manufacturing company selling in the State."

SHRI PRAMOD SAWANT, MLA made a mention about
" Sanquelim Municipal Council has passed a resolution in the past to correct the name of our town from Sanquelim to Sankhali. However, the Government till date has been following the old incorrect name. It is humble request to the August House to amend the name of our town from Sanquelim to Sankhali. Further, it is also requested to sent communication to all the Central Government Departments including Election Communication to correct the Constituency name as well."

SHRI FRANCIS D'SOUZA, Minister for Urban Development replied to the Mention.
