SHRI MANOHAR PARRIKAR, Leader of Opposition moved the following:
"This House unanimously resolves that inspite of repeated assurances in Legislative Assembly and matter having been taken up with various authorities, illegal extraction of sand at Amona near Amona-Kandola bridge still continues. Therefore, the illegal extraction of sand be immediately stopped and those responsible shall be booked under appropriate rule within a weeks time."

SHRI DIGAMBAR KAMAT, Chief Minister replied to the points raised by the mover.

 SHRI MANOHAR PARRIKAR, Leader of Opposition made a mention about the fear and apprehension in the minds of teachers and in general people of Goa for lathicharging the retired teachers on 19th July, 2010 who were marching towards the Secretariat for pressing their demands, showing irresponsible behaviour of the Government and ill treatment meted out to the Senior retired teachers.

"This House unanimously resolves that the widening of NH 4A/NH 17 be finalized only in consultation with those who are impacted and also that the National Highway be constructed to bypass cities and villages. Further resolves that there be no toll on NH 4A/NH 17 within the State of Goa."

SHRI MANOHAR PARRIKAR, Leader of Opposition made a mention about the fear and anger in the minds of people of Mapusa about the robbery of around Rs. 5 lakhs at Laxmi Narayan Temple, which is centrally located and almost one kilometer away from Mapusa Police Station, in effectiveness of the Police machinery, to protect temples, churches etc and such incidents are taking place during last three years, no concrete steps have been taken to tackle the issue and achieve the results.

S/SHRI MANOHAR PARRIKAR, Leader of Opposition LAXMIKANT PARSEKAR, ANANT SHET and MAHADEV NAIK, MLAs made a mention about the fear and anger in the minds of people of Sattari Taluka about the death of Utkarsha Uday Parab aged 16 years who was reportedly kidnapped and forced to take Ratol, causal and irresponsible behaviour of the Police authority in registering the case and taking action.

"Anxiety and apprehension in the minds of people that the Government intends to bring temples and other religious institutions under RTI. The apprehension is further enhanced due to circular letter reference no.43/1/2006/CAB/PF dated 16.07.2010 of Collector (North) asking all temples to give vital information including assets including gold to Shri M. Athikesavan of Tamilnadu."

"This House unanimously resolves that special schools to ensure proper coaching inPhysics/Chemistry/Maths/Biology may be permitted by granting relaxation in rules to ensure bettersuccess rate of Goans in specialized sectors including IIT/BITS/IISC/AIMS etc."

SHRI ATANASIO MONSERATTE, Minister for Education replied to thepoints raised by the mover.
