“This House unanimously resolves to urge the Government to take immediate steps to regulate the lifts and escalators in the State of Goa. Lifts, escalators are being used in residential and commercial premises Open lifts are used during the construction phase of various buildings and it is not being regulated by any Department of the Government of Goa. Fire and Emergency Services Department may be made the Nodal Department for issuance of compulsory prior permission to install such lifts and escalators in the State with immediate effect.”
