Fear and Apprehension in the minds of farmers of Latambarcem, Sal and surrounding Area as Widespread Infestation of Monkeys in this Area is Causing Severe Agricultural Losses
I wish to bring to the urgent attention of the House the grave situation faced by farmers in the Latambarcem area due to a massive infestation of Monkeys, which has devastated agricultural activities, especially coconut plantations and other orchards. Farmers in Latambarcem, who have historically relied on coconut farming for their livelihood, are facing unprecedented losses this year. Monkeys have proliferated intensely, destroying not only coconut yields but, papaya, Jackfruit, Mango, arecanut, etc, on a large scale. The impact is so severe that, after this infestation of monkeys, hardly any healthy produce remains for harvest, leading to economic distress among farmer families.
I urge the Departments to look into this matter seriously and immediately.

Fear and growing apprehension among the people of Bicholim and daily commuters using the newly constructed main Bicholim Bypass due to the repeated landslides occurring along this route. Today marked yet another incident, as large rocks and boulders were seen dislodged and strewn across the road, raising significant safety concerns.
This recurring issue has intensified fears regarding the stability of the bypass and the adequacy of its design and construction. Residents are questioning whether the relevant department will take action by penalizing the contractor responsible, as the current situation suggests the road may have been poorly designed. The community is urging authorities to treat this matter with urgency, given the potential risks to daily commuters and the broader public.

zero hour mention is in view of increased fear and apprehension in the minds of people across the state over the growing threat of stray cattle on Goa’s roads, especially during the night, when poor visibility significantly increases the risk of serious accidents. This issue has already led to numerous injuries and fatalities. Stray cattle roaming on highways and main roads or any other road, not only endanger the lives of daily commuters but also damage Goa’s image as a safe tourist destination. Despite schemes like the Goa Stray Cattle Management Scheme, lack of proper implementation and enforcement has worsened the situation. I urge the House to take immediate action by enforcing strict penalties on negligent cattle owners, improving road safety infrastructure, supporting local gaushalas, and ensuring active participation from local bodies and the community to protect lives and restore safety on our roads, especially during vulnerable nighttime hours. please mention the immediate steps the Department intends to take in this matter.

The Attention of the house is drawn to this urgent need of the people from Bicholim, as the monsoon season is approaching, it is imperative to take proactive measures to mitigate flooding risks in Bicholim and Nanoda by prioritizing the dredging and desilting of rivers and rivulets in the region.
Over the past years, Silt Accumulation, Vegetation, and Clogged Waterways have exacerbated flooding, causing severe damage to homes, agriculture, and infrastructure. To prevent recurrence, I urge the department to: Conduct a thorough survey of critical river stretches, rivulets, and drainage channels in Bicholim and Nanoda., Expedite dredging and desilting to restore the natural flow capacity of rivers and rivulets., Remove unwanted vegetation obstructing water flow., also Strengthen embankments and reinforce vulnerable areas.
Timely action will safeguard lives, property, and livelihoods while reducing the economic burden of flood damage. We request the Water Resources Department (WRD), local municipal bodies, and the Disaster Management Department to take immediate steps and allocate necessary and appropriate resources for this urgent task.
The steps the Govt intends to take, and also the time it will take to complete all such activities for the prevention of flood in Bicholim.

\" Attention of the House is drawn to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maidan in Bicholim, a prominent venue for local sports, cultural events, and public gatherings, is in a highly dilapidated and neglected state. The ground lacks basic infrastructure such as a proper playing surface, drainage, boundary fencing, and seating arrangements.
Despite repeated requests, no substantial renovation or maintenance work has been undertaken for years. The poor condition of the maidan is discouraging youth from participating in sports.
The government is requested to inform this House of the steps taken or proposed to immediately restore and upgrade the maidan (playground) to serve the needs of the people of Bicholim.
