(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) which new streams of education will be introduced by these universities ?

* WILL the Minister for Panchayati Raj be pleased to state:
(a) eligibility criteria for appointment of State Election Commissioner;
(b) eligibility criteria for appointment of State Election Commissioner prior to amendments by which present criteria is introduced; and
(c) whether the Government will revert back to old criteria to make people from Goa eligible to be appointed as State Election Commissioner, if yes then the timeline set by government for such amendment?
(a) eligibility criteria for appointment of State Election Commissioner;
Answer: Sir, (i) He is Citizen of India,
(ii) He has completed forty five years of age; and
(iii) He is in an All India Service or in Civil Service of the State for not less than 20 years and possess knowledge and experience relating to elections.
(b) eligibility criteria for appointment of State Election Commissioner prior to amendments by which present criteria is introduced; and
Answer: (i) He is Citizen of India
(ii) He has completed forty five years of age; and
(iii) He has held any Group 'A' post under the Government or Government of India or any other State Government for not less than five years and preferably holds a degree in Law from any recognized
University
(c) whether the Government will revert back to old criteria to make people from Goa eligible to be appointed as State Election Commissioner, if yes then the timeline set by government for such amendment?
Answer: Yes, Amendment for eligibility for appointment of State Election Commissioner is under consideration of the Government.
