“This House strongly recommends the Government to take immediate steps to revive the de-funct Communidades in South Goa. Communidade is a rich legacy of Goa and has to be preserved to safeguard our land and to stop illegal encroachments. The communidades which have not had any meetings or do not have a functioning committee should be assigned to a designated Administrative Officer and the same should be revived immediately.”

“This House strongly recommends the Government to name one of the stands at Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at Fatorda in honour of former Sports Minister Shri Francisco Monte Cruz, as he had put in lot of efforts to ensure that the stadium is completed in a record period of six months time and was opened in the year 1989 to host the prestigious Nehru Gold Cup, the 1st International Football Tournament in Goa and after which the Stadium could host various National and International Football and Cricket matches. It was only due to his efforts with personal supervision, timely effective decisions and motivation to the team involved in the construction work, which has yielded positive results and has helped the Sports Fraternity immensely”.

*WILL the Minister for Public Health be pleased to state:

(a) the details of the facilities and equipments currently available at South Goa District Hospital along with the current status of each facility and equipments with details such as type of wards, number of beds in each ward;
(b) whether the I.C.U is functional; if so, the details of the facilities in the I.C.U.; if not, the time frame by which the I.C.U. will be functional and the type of facilities proposed in the I.C.U.;
(c) the present staff strength of District Hospital Margao with details such as number of posts with designation, name of the doctor/ nurses, date of appointment, the date of sanctioning this strength, the number of these staff working on permanent/ contract/ daily wages, the ratio of doctors and nurses required for the number of patients; the requirement of staff in the District Hospital Margao to cater to the needs of patients/OPDs etc. with the date of assessing the requirement of staff by the Government with a copy of assessment report; and
(d) whether there are any complaints regarding shortage of staff; if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the number of Ambulances that are existing in the District Hospital; the number of Ambulances that are functioning; and the number of patients that have been sent to GMC from District Hospital during last 3 years; provide details month-wise?

Sir, the details are as per Annexure ‘A’, Annexure ‘B’, Annexure ‘C’ and Annexure ‘D’.

(b)

whether the I.C.U is functional; if so, the details of the facilities in the I.C.U.; if not, the time frame by which the I.C.U. will be functional and the type of facilities proposed in the I.C.U.;

ICU is made functional with all the necessary Infrastructure & staff with a 9 bedded capacity.

 

       The details of the facilities in the I.C.U.  are as follows:-

  1. Ventilators supported beds  with central ports of oxygen, vaccum and medical air– 9 Nos
  2. I.C.U. Dialysis Bed – 1 No
  3. Central Nursing Station  equipped with high end multipara monitors – 9 Nos
  4. High end ventilitaors – 9 Nos and four as backup
  5. ABG Machine – 1 No
  6. High end Defibrillator  – 2 Nos
  7. I-stat machine – 1 No 
  8. Syringe Pump – 15 Nos
  9. Infusion Pump – 13 Nos
  10. ECG Machine ( 12 channel ) – 1 No
  11. Bed warmers – 3 Nos
  12.  Transport Ventilator – 1 Nos
  13. X-ray View Box – 1 No
  14. Air Mattresses- 4 Nos
  15. Central Monitoring System – 1 Nos
  16. Transport Monitor – 1 N

the present staff strength of District Hospital Margao with details such as number of posts with designation, name of the doctor/ nurses, date of appointment, the date of sanctioning this strength, the number of these staff working on permanent/ contract/ daily wages, the ratio of doctors and nurses required for the number of patients; the requirement of staff in the District Hospital Margao to cater to the needs of patients/OPDs etc. with the date of assessing the requirement of staff by the Government with a copy of assessment report; and

The details of the present staff strength of the District Hospital Margao are as per Annexure ‘E’ and ‘F’. 

The date of sanctioning this staff strength is 26/05/2021. 

The number of staff working on a permanent/ contract/ daily wages basis is as per Annexure ‘F’. 

The ratio of doctors and nurses required for the number of patients is 6:1.

The details of requirement of staff in the District Hospital Margao are as per Annexure ‘G’. Assessment by the Government is underway.

(d)  

whether there are any complaints regarding shortage of staff; if so, the details thereof; and

Yes. Complains have been received regarding long Queue at the OPD’s , Registration Counter and Pharmacy Counter and also Door to Drug time is more caused by less staff and increased Footfall of patients.

(e)  

the number of Ambulances that are existing in the District Hospital; the number of Ambulances that are functioning; and the number of patients that have been sent to GMC from District Hospital during last 3 years; provide details month-wise?

South Goa District Hospital currently has 2 Basic Life Support (BLS) Functional  Ambulances:

Ambulances from EMRI (stationed at Old Hospicio)

  • 2 ALS Ambulances
  • 1 Cardiac Ambulance               
  • 1 Neonatal Ambulance

Number of patient that have been sent to GMC from District Hospital during last 3 years  are as per Annexure ‘H’.
