This House expresses concern about Coal Pollution that is happening due to excessive coal handling at MPT and recommend that issue be taken to Appropriate Authority for redressal.

The following Resolution tabled by Shri Ravi Naik, MLA was not moved as the Member concerned was not present in the House:
“This House strongly recommends the Government to construct a by-pass road from Ponda Tisk, Dhavali upto Borim bridge, which is at a stretch of 4 kms in order to avoid traffic congestion and prevent major road accidents as the existing road is very narrow.”

This House unanimously resolves that the Government should not sign and withdraw if signed, any MoU between the Inland Waterways Authority of India and MPT in order to protect the right of our rivers like Mandovi, Zuari, Chapora, Mapusa, Sal and Cumbharjua in the State of Goa.

The Resolution was put to vote, then Division was sought and defeated by 21 to 10 votes

This regulations/procedure creates hardship to the common local people of Goa, inspite of the infrastructure tax. The steps by the Government to provide relief to common people.

Ministers Reply 426.47 KBShri Ravi Naik, MLA, made a mention as regards thefear and anxiety in the minds of the people of Ponda due to the pathetic conditions of roads in Ponda Constituency, due to digging and damage caused by laying of pipelines by the Sewerage and Infrastructure Development Corporation of Goa Ltd. and Goa Natural Gas Pvt. Ltd, during the last seven years. This is particularly caused by improper planning. The roads are dug up in entire Ponda and Curti Khandepar Panchayat. The work of restoration and resurfacing of roads are still pending. The action the Government intends to take in the matter.

GSUDA has also issued letter to Ponda Municipal Council on 27/09/2021 to hand over the site hindrance free. |
