PRIVATE MEMBERS’ RESOLUTIONS

SMT. VICTORIA FERNANDES moved the following:

“This House strongly resolves to recommend the Government that a modern community Hall with all necessary facilities shall be built at Merces where a large, highly literate and enterprising village of Merces, famous for its cultural, crafts and sports talent, identified as a census town lacks a facility like a community hall for public functions, cultural programmes and other creative activities.”

SMT. VICTORIA FERNANDES spoke on the Resolution.

SHRI CHURCHILL ALEMAO, Minister for PWD replied to the points raised by the mover.

The Resolution was withdrawn by leave of the House.

SMT. VICTORIA FERNANDES moved the following:

“This House unanimously resolves to  recommends the Government to plan, design and erect thematically and architecturally unique ‘Gateway to Goa’ with necessary facilities showcasing episodes of freedom struggle and post liberation progress prominently at Polem, Molem and Patradevi check posts as befitting memorial and permanent creative assets of public education and tourist attraction.”

“This House strongly recommends the Government that the St. Cruz
Constituency may be covered by extending the underground power  
cabling from Panaji or Bambolim as the case may be for ensuring
uninterrupted and quality power supply to the growing population.”

for winning a bronze medal each in Men’s 66 Kg Freestyle Wrestling and
in Men’s Middle Weight (75 Kg) boxing respectively at the recently
concluded Beijing Olympics 2008.

“The People of Goa are truly proud of the tremendous success which Goa’s athlete Steffi Cardozo achieved, and laurels brought to the State of Goa by winning 25 National medals in all categories including senior categories, 20 West-Zone and inter State medals, for creating National record, for having been conferred with National Award by Human Resources Development, Government of India, for representing the Country on several occasions at Asian and South Asian levels and winning International medals and for having been completed double Graduation with B.A. and B.P.Ed. both with distinctions.”

ZERO HOUR MENTION

SMT. VICTORIA FERNANDES, MLA made a mention about the huge amount of stale and rotten fish is being sold in Panaji Municipal fish market without any checks or monitoring by health and local authorities posing danger to health of consumer. Regular checks are required by health inspectors. The Government needs to issue necessary direction in this regard.   

 

    S/SHRI VISHWAJIT RANE, Minister for Health and JOAQUIM ALEMAO, Minister for Urban Development replied to the mention.

ZERO HOUR MENTION

SMT. VICTORIA FERNANDES, MLA made a mention about the fear and anxiety in the minds of people in her Constituency as suddenly in the wee hours at about 2 30 AM there was a huge fire at a scrap yard in Voilem Bhat, Merces causing fear among the people of surrounding houses who escaped narrowly to be engulfed in the fire which was luckily put off by the fire brigade who were very prompt in action.
