SMT. JENIFFER MONSERATE, MLA called the attention of Minister
for Water Resources to the following:
“Fear and apprehension in the minds of the public of Taleigao due to the frequent flooding of low lying areas namely Camrabhat, Peterbhat and surrounding areas as such there is an urgent need of demolition and reconstruction of culverts/bridges to facilitate the easy flow of water as at the present the flow of water is restricted due to only pipes being laid under these bridges/culverts along with other utilities. The areas that needs demolition & reconstruction near Gaunkar Hospital, Expert Pharmacy, Ford Showroom, Thomas Garage and area around Dudh Badshah’s house.Immediate steps the Government will take to ease the flooding”.

SMT. JENNIFER MONSERRATE, MLA made a mention about the fear and anxiety in the minds of the people of Caranzalem, Taleigao that excavation along the Caranzalem –Dona Paula road is about to commence. This will cause great hardship for the people living in the area, as at present this road is the only link from Miramar to Dona Paula, as the main Miramar –Dona Paula road is still under construction. Therefore requests that the excavation to commence only after the main Miramar-Dona Paula road is completed.

004A. *WILL the Minister for Fisheries be pleased to state:
(a) with the ban on fishing season effective from 1st June 2019 and the suspected import of fish from other States in Goa laced with preservatives such as formalin, the following details may be furnished;
(i) the reasons as regards to why ban on fishing is applied only in Goa and not in other neighbouring States; the preventive method applied to restrict fishing by trawlers from neighbouring States in Goa’s territorial water with full details thereof;
(ii) the reasons as regards to why Goans are compelled to consume frozen/preserved/stored fish which is suspected to be applied with hazardous preservatives such as formalin with details thereof:
(iii) the details of the import which is estimated for this year during fishing ban period as well as other on monthly basis; the estimated consumption of fish which is being already stored/preserved using cold storage or other facilities in Goa, with details thereof; and
(iv) the reasons as regards to why price control mechanism is not in place when the Government is providing number of facilities, incentives, subsidies to trawlers, fishing community, with details thereof?

(a) the details of action/initiatives taken by the Government to resume mining operations in the State from the date of closure of mining operation by Court Order;
(b) the future plans of the Government to resume mining operation in the State and the various options available with the Government in this regards along with the time frame for the same;
(c) the guidelines and regulations followed by the State Government in respect of sand extracted from river beds in the State;
(d) the details of various locations allowed for sand extraction, the details of sand extracted from these locations w.e.f. 1.1.2015 till date, permits issued by the Directorate of Mines and Geology, revenue collected and the present status of the locations indicating details of persons extracting sand at present; and
(e) the details of action taken by the Directorate of Mines and Geology from 1.1.2016 till date in respect of illegal sand extraction in the State including details of raids/survey conducted, action taken by authorities and the present status of these cases?
